DPR Regime Tour

DPR Regime Tour

Introduction

This project entailed creating promotional materials for DPR's 2022 "Regime" World Tour. The campaign includes three distinct layouts:

  • a bus shelter poster,

  • a square window sign, and

  • a large-format landscape highway billboard.

These deliverables were meticulously crafted to meet the demands of a genuine world tour campaign, which called for varied sizes and purposes for the three layouts.

The main goal of these deliverables is to let people know about DPR's upcoming show in their city and give them the necessary details based on how they happen to encounter this information.

I assigned each layout their own distinct purposes:

Considering my user experience-oriented mindset, I aimed for the deliverables to accomplish the following goals:

Bus Shelter Poster

Inform thoroughly +
Call-to-Action

Square Poster

Generally inform +
Call-to-Action

Billboard

Inform quickly

  • Be understandable & legible for the spectators who may be in a hurry yet interested in the event.

  • Prioritize the most essential information

  • Evoke a sense of authenticity and reliability

Considering my user experience-oriented mindset, I aimed for the deliverables to accomplish the following goals:

Be understandable & legible

for the spectators who may be in a hurry yet interested in the event.

Prioritize the most essential information,

aiming for posters that are useful and provide key details for recall.

Evoke a sense of authenticity and reliability,

because if they were part of a real campaign, they'd need to seem genuine.

  • It is said, “good design is honest”.

    • If I can create a good impression with these posters, it would be great to see them used and shared around the community.

This color palette was colorblind friendly. In case people wanted to print and distribute copies of this graphic in black and white, the information is still legible.

I opted for this color theme because it reminded me of Arizona’s scenic view of Sedona. The warm tones reflected the hot climate.

White space and hierarchy were used to achieve visual cohesiveness.

My goal with these deliverables was to make them straightforward, practical, and attention-grabbing enough to be the go-to source for event information. I wanted people to be able to snap a picture of the posters and easily share them with friends or direct them to where the posters are posted to scan the QR code.

They could even just share the ticket link with their friends to help plan their concert day together.

Softwares used:

  • Adobe Illustrator (for smaller and simpler vector assets)

  • Adobe InDesign (for layout)

  • Adobe Photoshop (to enhance the portrait images)

Colors

The convention's visual identity uses consistent purple and green colors.

Torn paper & Tape

I replicated their social media and website motifs.

Typeface

I used the convention's typeface, Interstate, for consistency and legibility.

Colors

The convention's visual identity is characterized by the consistent use of purple and green throughout their social media accounts and the signage in the venue itself.

Torn paper & Tape

These motifs were prevalent across their social media platforms and website. It’d only be natural to adapt it into all media forms. I did my best replicating it into this brochure.

Typeface

I aimed to maintain consistency by utilizing the same typeface featured in the convention's visual identity. I ended up with using Interstate due to its legibility & how it offers a versatile range of styles.

Color Palette

Even though the official DPR Instagram account used rainbow gradients for the tour's visuals, I chose a simpler gradient palette. This ensured that the essential text information would stand out effectively.

Potraits

The portraits of DPR Ian and DPR Live were employed to clearly indicate the performers. As DPR is recognized as a collective of creative individuals, featuring prominent headshots of the two aimed to pique the attention of the target audience, particularly DPR fans.

Typography

Varying styles in typography helped achieve visual hierarchy; prioritizing the most important information in bold and gradually transitioning to finer print.

Text was also in black and white in an effort to make sure layouts were legible against the gradient background.
